Nelson Mitchell is the CEO of HistoryMaker
Homes, the longest-standing volume homebuilder in the State of Texas. With expertise in both
construction and business, he has earned a reputation as a thoughtful, empathetic leader,
focused on quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Under his leadership,
HistoryMaker Homes has been a trusted name for over 75 years, delivering high-quality homes and
exceptional service.
Passionate about community development, Nelson believes in building homes that support families
and contribute to thriving neighborhoods. He views homeownership as more than a transaction—it's
about building a foundation for life’s moments. His commitment to innovation, quality, and
customer hospitality continues to set the standard for excellence in the homebuilding industry.
A devoted husband, father of three, and grandfather, Nelson’s family is a staple of their
community and church. He is deeply committed to philanthropy, often volunteering and supporting
causes aligned with his values of service and positive impact. His down-to-earth nature and
commitment to others reflect his belief that true fulfillment comes from helping others and
nurturing the bonds that matter most.
Nelson loves outdoor activities. In fact, you can often find him at his family ranch enjoying
time with his loved ones and extended family. Nelson is a graduate of Texas A&M University.
Zac Thompson | President
Zac Thompson is the President of HistoryMaker Homes, proudly leading the company with over 20 years of experience in the homebuilding industry. With a deep commitment to the values that have shaped HistoryMaker Homes for more than 75 years, Zac believes a home is more than just a structure - it’s a place where families grow, create memories, and build a future. As a father of four and a husband, Zac understands the importance of designing spaces that foster connection and joy with loved ones. His leadership is grounded in integrity, trust, and a passion for quality, ensuring that HistoryMaker Homes continues to innovate while staying true to its Texas roots. Outside of work, Zac enjoys a variety of hobbies, including competitive cycling and hiking, as well as spending time with his family - reflecting the balance of hard work and personal fulfillment that shapes his approach to leadership. Zac is a graduate of Texas Christian University and Harvard Business School.
Matt Wiggins | CFO
Matt Wiggins is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of HistoryMaker Homes, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role. With a solid background in finance, accounting, capital markets, and real estate, Matt, a CPA, is a graduate of Texas A&M University and Harvard Business School. Matt’s extensive experience in financial strategy and operations plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and growth of HistoryMaker Homes. He is deeply committed to supporting the company’s mission to provide quality homes and exceptional service while maintaining financial integrity. Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, as well as pursuing personal interests that help him maintain a balanced and thoughtful approach to both his career and family life. His strategic thinking, dedication to the company, and focus on family make him a key member of the HistoryMaker leadership team.
Ty Brewer | Chief Digital Officer
Ty Brewer is the Chief Digital Officer at HistoryMaker Homes, where he oversees the technology and business applications that support all operations. With decades of experience in business systems, data architecture, information security, and project management, Ty plays a key role in driving innovation and efficiency across the company. He is also the founder of the Real Estate Executive IT Forum, a national group for real estate IT leaders. Outside of work, Ty is a devoted father of four and husband, His expertise in technology and strategic leadership contribute to the continued success of HistoryMaker Homes. Ty is a graduate of Texas Tech University.
