DRAFTSMAN

Job Summary:
The Draftsman is a key asset to HMH Architecture, providing critical drafting and design information support for Estimating, Purchasing, Construction, Sales and Marketing. Since design specifications are the starting point in the flow of information through the company, the clarity and accuracy of the designs and information the Draftsman propagates is key to the efficient success of History Maker Homes; therefore, the Draftsman has made the decision to dedicate to meticulous drafting and information communication for all HMH Architecture objectives.

Essential Duties:

• Revise existing home plans and details and create new design elements as directed by Senior Design Coordinator.
• Document and distribute plans and revisions to pertinent HMH departments, trade partners, and engineering/design partners
• Daily review of plans included in start packages for accuracy
• Create lot fit lists and lot fit layouts
• Create model home complex designs
• Calculate, research, and maintain design pertinent datasheets

Expectations:

• Full adherence to all corporate standards, procedures, and policies.
• Alignment with HMH Core Values, Operating Principles, and stated business model standards.
• Adherence to HMH Architecture Design Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures
• Adherence to IRC, City Codes, and Development Guidelines
• Response to requests for assistance from other departments

Qualifications:

• The person in this position should display the following characteristics:  thorough, focused, diligent, orderly, and meticulous with details
• Associate degree required
• SoftPlan and/or AutoCAD experience preferred
• Residential construction experience preferred
